Chesapeake Bay Beach Club offers so many breathtaking spaces perfect for entire wedding weekends. The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is truly a “one stop shop,” offering beautiful spaces for pre and post wedding celebrations, as well as stunning ceremony spaces to pair with each of our ballrooms.
Each of our four ballrooms – Beach House Ballroom, Sunset Ballroom, Tavern Ballroom, and The Inn Ballroom – are paired with beautiful ceremony spaces. The Beach House Ballroom offers two ceremony spaces: the Beach House Lawn and the Breezeway. The Beach House Lawn is located in the center of a formal sunken garden at the water’s edge. Couples can choose to have their ceremony set facing the water or facing a white garden trellis. The Breezeway is the Beach House Ballroom’s indoor ceremony option. The Breezeway features a vaulted panel ceiling with a cultured stone wall as the backdrop for ceremonies. The Sunset Ballroom also offers two ceremony spaces: the Garden Room and the Garden Rooftop. The Garden Room features French doors, large windows, coffered and latticed ceiling and a formal fireplace as the backdrop for the ceremony. The Garden Rooftop is directly above the Garden Room and offers expansive, breathtaking views of the Chesapeake Bay. The Garden Rooftop is a 4 season space that can be opened with sliding doors to let in the bay breezes or closed and climate controlled for less than ideal weather days or in the winter months. Whichever location you select for your ceremony – your cocktail hour would be held in the opposite space. The Tavern Ballroom is paired with a private ceremony lawn that overlooks the water. Couples can choose to have their ceremony facing the water or a beautiful garden trellis covered in ivy and seasonal flowers. The Inn Ballroom offers two ceremony spaces: a ceremonial lawn within The Inn’s gardens or a private garden terrace covered by a sailcloth tent.
All outdoor ceremony spaces have indoor backups should inclement weather appear in the forecast as the wedding day gets closer. This decision is not made until the early afternoon on your wedding day. The Beach House Ballroom and The Inn’s outdoor ceremony setups can be quickly moved to the Breezeway and covered Garden Terrace. The Sunset Ballroom’s Garden Rooftop has retractable windows and climate control to be adjusted according to inclement weather or uncomfortable temperatures. Ceremonies on the Tavern Lawn are easily moved into the Tavern Ballroom as a weather backup.
There are many advantages to planning the ceremony at the same location as the reception. Having the ceremony onsite makes parking and transportation very easy for guests, and creates a very smooth transition from ceremony to cocktail hour.
Choosing and coordinating vendors is also much easier when having the ceremony on-site. Vendors will have an easier time setting up in one location and can easily pull a theme or style throughout the entire venue. Having the ceremony onsite also allows the couple to have earlier access for any pre-ceremony pictures – at the Beach Club we allow couples to access the property ninety minutes prior to their event start time.
